With no markings sadly there is very little one can say about it other than it is a typical pendules de Paris French figural clock probably the latter part of the 19th C. Model names were not really used for such clocks. I can't read the two numbers at the bottom of the backplate, which is the pendulum length, but the one attached looks as if it may be a tad long and not the original one.

Russel, congrats to Your fine french clock! As You probably may know the case is made of spelter or pot metall,an alloy containing zink and other stuff, verry popular at the time the clock was made ca.1880+-10 years. The gilding is verry thin,so don´nt try to polish, just dust it gently.Take care not to break anything, the material is much more brittle than bronze. The mvmt. is a time only pendule de Paris, probably by one of the three big makers even if unsigned. It will last for centuries if properly maintained. It could have an invisible Brocot escapement, which would be a nice feature. The pendulum is definitely wrong,a matching replacement can be bought for cheap by any of the big suppliers, and You´ll need a new suspension spring as well.Measure the old one to get the right size.Often these sat on a plinth under a glass dome, which is lost in the past.Maybe You close the back opening of the case with a round piece of card board to prevent dust falling in.I´ve done so with mine

Thanks for the great info and advice, I will definitely follow it. I love these clocks and have been looking for one for a long time at a good price, normally they get bid up too high and i pass, but this one had a buy it now price of $100.00 or so, and I snapped it up. I am a collector like most of us and have a small stock of vintage parts so I am hoping when I get around to working on this one I will already have the proper pendulum.

I have had terrible luck with the U.S. Post Office as of late. They recently damaged two of the clocks I sold and I had to content with anger buyers, not fun!

Just in case anyone was wondering the clock arrived safely and in one piece, and started right up and has been ticking merrily away ever since.
