Default Another inheritance. Majestime pocket watch. Learn me, please

This is another priceless (to me anyways) piece that was inherited from my grandparents.

And the best part? It actually works!!! When I was handed it, I opened the front, turned the knob a few times and she started tickin.

I have tried searching for more information about these, but can't seem to find anything.

i have found references to railroad and hunting watches, but never an automotive watch.

How does one go dating one of these? I don't see a serial number anywhere.

on the back of the mechanism is a couple lines of text. Very small and hard to read....

    8A
    Majesti Watch Co
    Seventeen 17 Jewels
    Unadjusted Swiss

So who knows about this gem?

I saw that it was Swiss made which made me think it should go in the European watch forum, but from what I have found, the Majesti Watch company was out of New York.

So I figured I would try here first.

It says Swiss all over it. Both on the movement and on the case. It's clearly Swiss. Many of these types of made-for-import watches carry the company name (trademark) of the importer, not the maker. Hence the New York reference you found for Majesti.

How is the back of the case removed. I have one and have not been able to figure out how to remove the back?
