Review: Nicholas Muller Horologist Extraordinaire by Arlyn Rath
Arlyn Rath is a fellow of the NAWCC, with a long time attachment to New York chapter #2, and served as president of this chapter, as well as Secretary and Vice-President.
The book is very well written, with numerous excellent pictures.
Arlyn used Jim Shawn of Texas for much of her research, as well as the NAWCC Library and Research Center, the Research Division of the American Clock and Watch Museum, the main branch of the New York City public library, and also Chris Bailey, recently retired curator of the American Clock and Watch Museum. The book was 20 years in the making.
It's available from the NAWCC book shop. I would recommend it to anyone with any interest in American clock making. Just about every major American manufacturer used Muller's castings in their clocks, and many show up in Tran Duy Ly's books on American clockmakers.harold bain, Member ch 33
