    Default Midwest Regional Exhibit

We recently had our Midwestern Regional, in Valparaiso, In.

The exhibit was themed on horological advertising and ephemera. It intended to show how these primary sources, often lost and discarded, can bring history, value and provenance to horology and it's objects.

Here is a link to a slideshow of the exhibit. Hitting F11 on many computers will toggle full screen viewing.

In the lower left corner of the display, there will b a control panel allowing pause/start.

Thank you Ralph for posting these... 'almost' like being there...
I know a BIG Thank You should go out to the organizers... this took a LOT of effort to 'collect' not to mention to organize the display...
There are items in the exhibit that are rarely seen!!!!

The organizers of the Midwest Regional in Valparaiso, IN do a great job of making the whole show a memorable experience. From the Exhibit featured in the link above to the dinner and social time the evening before the show to the parking lot to the mart itself everything is well planned and well executed. I second what Terry says above...a huge round of applause to everyone who helped. I go to a lot of fun and wonderful NAWCC Regional events but this one is special. Plan to go next year for sure!

Here is link to a slide show of our 2011 exhibit. It was themed on Patti Clocks and the relationship to opera stars. It was an
attractive display and since has resulted in a related book.

    See previous post.

Here's another image that gives a little context to our 2011 exhibit.

After opening the image, clicking it should open a browser window. Control key/+ should enlarge it to make it readable.

I had to end the site where I had the slide shows available for viewing. In case there is further interest, I have them loaded at a new site.

This one was in 2009 and was on bracket clocks. They ranged from 1660ish to 20th century. The earliest one was an Italian night clock. The movement wasn't original to the clock, but was interesting in it's own right. It was as early, had a great dial and a cross beat escapement.

2010, we did an exhibit on carriage and traveling clocks. I didn't get many pictures.

This is the 2013 exhibit, The theme was pre-production or handmade American clocks and the tools that made them.

Some of the pictures are cropped. I'm still trying to figure out a fix.

Hitting F11 should give you a larger screen view. Control ± can also adjust your view.

This might work better, I redid it as a video.
