You have to work hard to be" Lucky" and you have have done the work to be able to say you were "Lucky"

Congrats on many hours of hard work and you earned the benifits of it.

Re: A Lucky Ebay Buy
I'd like to get a keywind myself one of these days. It can't be too expensive though so that limits things. So far I have only gone over $150 one time. Actually with two clocks and now 5 pocketwatches, it's the only time I went over $100.

Re: A Lucky Ebay Buy
There are plenty of affordable keywinds out there, especially if you stick to later model Walthams like 77s and 83s, or 7 jewel Elgins. Not too long into my collecting career, I picked up a fairly nice export grade '77 model Waltham in its original English-made sterling case for $80 locally. I regularly see similar others in silverode cases sell for similar prices or less.
1860 model Walthams are best avoided unless you want an uncased movement or a bad recase
. Many of them were originally in gold(as with this one), and 2 toz. of gold pushes the price of these sort of watches outside what I can normally afford. Even original silver cases can bring big money.

Thank you Ben, I'll be on the lookout. Waltham and Elgin were already decided on as the most likely candidates.
