Hi, Earl. The movement was made by Hermle, and the numbers indicate a Hermle # 1161-853BS/94.
Made in June, 1985.
Hi I'm working on a "Seth Thomas" triple chime grandfather and would like to learn how to read the movement codes.
I found that Talley owned the company from 1969 -1988. On the plate it says
MADE IN USA FOR
SETH THOMAS
A TALLEY INDUSTRIES CO
NORCROSS , GA . USA
8506
A 415 - 013
Thanks for any help Earl

Thanks Harold Anyway I can learn to how to identify the codes ?
Earl, I have a sheet that Butterworth Clocks sent me out many years ago (2004), with all the conversion numbers. Perhaps if you contact them, they might still have this available.
If you repair clocks on a regular basis, this sheet helps you to know if there is a replacement movement available in case you would prefer to do a direct replacement rather than overhaul the existing movement.

Thanks Harold I've already rebuilt the movement and it's running great. I will try and find a copy. I did find the Hermle Service Manual lots of good info.
