Please don't miss our local meeting on Sunday, March 4, 2012 as we will have a demonstration/talk by Larry Blanchard on the Use and Diagnostic ability of "Electronic Timing Machines" used in getting time pieces adjusted to keep the correct time.

March 4th Clock and Watch Contests
The clock contest will be for your best wall clock. The watch contest will be for the best “presentation” marked watch.

SUNDAY March 4, 2012 MEETING

The March 2012 meeting of the Indiana Chapter 18 will start at 9:00 a.m. (when the coffee and donuts are ready) on Sunday, March 4th. The meeting will be at the Lawrence Parks Building at 5301 North Franklin Road. The meeting will begin with a Mart, which will last until about 10:30 a.m., at which time the club will have the clock/watch contest. Following the contests, Larry Blanchard will demonstrate the use and interpretation of a watch timing machine that is used at Palmer’s Jewelry, in Kokomo, Indiana. He is asking chapter members to bring in a watch to help with the demonstration.
Also some Chapter 18 business will be discussed and information from the Executive Director’s Report from February 2012.

Well attended and Sucessful Chapter 18 Meeting Today:
The watch and clock contests brought a total of eight pieces for display at the meeting. Besides the incredible six presentation watches, L. Wise brought two "Estell' " clocks to the meeting and told of their history and their roots from Richmond, IN. Les had an article, authored by Doug Cowan, that had a lot of background information on these interesting clocks and their usefullness. The presentation watches, which ranged from a V & C to a couple of Walthams, a nice 992B Hamilton, a Lord Elgin wristwatch that was in its original box and looked to have never been worn, and a grade 294 South Bend were absolutely stunning to see.
Mr. Laurence Blanchard gave an excellent presentation on the mechanics and how to regulate 20th century pocketwatches. It kept the attention of the Chapter 18 members and the handouts that Laurence handed out were very helpful.
