Hamilton 912 with attractive dust cover - my 2nd Hamilton
Came across a Hamilton that really caught my eye the other day. I couldn't leave it there due to the dust cover alone.
It is a 912 , serial # 3239950, so it is not that old a watch, probably early 40s. Dial is a nice Art Deco style, outside of the case is in good shape, crystal is fine, and the movement runs great.
What I really like is the Hamitlon name and Lancaster Pa engraved into the back of the dust cover. Is this something they did often? I have not seen many Hamiltons with this on them.

Re: Hamilton 912 with attractive dust cover - my 2nd Hamilton
The Hamilton grade 912 was introduced in 1923 and continued in production until 1936. Total production for grade 912 was 260,900, which was by far the largest total produced of any "12-size" Hamilton grade. Your watch, ser. no. 3239950, is older than you think. It was made c.1924-25.
BTW, I put "12-size" in quotes because Hamilton "12-size" watches were not standard 12-size and did not fit standard 12-size cases. The earliest ones were slightly larger than standard 12-size and the later ones were slightly smaller than standard 12-size, and all required special cases.
Starting in 1936, Hamilton introduced an all-new line of 10-size watches which incorporated many technological advances, and which replaced the remaining "12-size" grades in the Hamilton lineup.
