Boston (Chelsea) Shipstrike quartz clock
I recently purchased used an Boston Shipstrike quartz clock, solid brass.
This clock was made in Dec. 1983, it is a 4.5" ships clock.
The brass case most weigh at least 5Lbs.
The bells strke correctly.
The it intermitently stops, if I set on the table, face up, sometimes it will run for days. then it will stop. Thump the glass or move it and it will start again but my only run for a fews seconds or half a day.
Chelsea, says I need to pay for a retro fit quartz movement but that they would have to drill a hole in the side for th replacement bell to mount.
There most be a better solution.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
