    Default 14K Garanti pocketwatch

    Hi,

I need some help identifying a a pocketwatch, belonging to my father. All it says on it, is: K14 Garanti, and then most likely a serial number: 15675

Is there any history to the watch? or is it a common watch? If anyone has some information about these types of watches, please tell.

And then there is a golden Certina saying: 2006 150, and 8481192... does anyone know what year it is from? I have been trying to find out myself, but I haven't been able to find out.

    All help is greatly appreciated

    Welcome to the board flatter,

We will not be able to tell you anything without sharp pictures of the movement, dial and possibly any markings in the case lids.

    Hi Flatter

K14 Garanti simply means "guaranteed 14 karat (solid) gold, referring to the case. It's probably correct, but there should be other marks on the case to confirm it.

As Skutt has said, we need to see photos.

Ok, finally figured out how to open it, so I could see the movement. By the looks of it, it seems like a new movement, but I have too little knowledge about it, to say for sure Th eonly letters I could find in the movement was: JET and RA I don't know if that means anything to you?

I have attached some pictures, but the aren't too good, so if you can't use them, I'll try and make some new ones.

The RA are simply indications for which way to move the lever to regulate the watch. Retard Avance/Slow Fast

It looks like a cylinder escapement to me.

There is a stamp between the two narrow bridges in on the left side of your second picture. Can you make a sharp picture of it?

    Hi flatter,

just a remark to the Certina: With the serial number 8481192 it was made in 1970.

The stamp says either JST or JET... I'll try and see if I can get a better picture of it.
