Default Howard Miller Grandfather clock chimes will not work

Howard Miller Grandfather clock model # 610-754.

Clock had not worked for some time, pulled the movement from clock, cleaned movement, the cable was off track on two pulleys, repair that problem and placed back into clock. Keeps time perfectly but the chimes will not work.

A good cleaning requires that the movement be taken apart. At that time, other issues can be addressed and corrected. It might be time for another movement. Contact Mark Butterworth (see advertising top of page) for a quote.

    Suem,

Wiggle the disk that operate on the front of the plate on the chime side. These are on the third and forth wheel extended arbors. If they wiggle around then the movement is worn out. It is best to replace it.

Common for the chime side to wear out long befor the other trains.

I am assuming that the chime train is being released normally.
