QUARTER REPEATER....WHAT IS THIS ? ? ?

Time Piece [Pocket Watch?] Quarter Repeater – I have 02 exact pieces of the same. On Dial one of the time piece it is signed as THE AMIR – SWISS MADE. The dial of the said time piece is in very bad shape and parts of the same is being cannibalized to restore the present time piece. This time piece has Movement No.43505 and another No.31328+.
I will be grateful for guidance in this matter.

These are usually packaged in a clam shell type case, that you usually see used with travelling clocks.
