    Default please help newbie identify shatz and kundo anniversary clock

    bought some new to me clocks...2 are shatz and 2 are kundo, the all need work, but seem like they can be salvaged...here are the pictures for the shatz clocks....i will post the kundo pictures under this...thanks for the help

    Welcome Dave! That first Schatz you show is the same as my very first torsion clock, mine is dated 3/53. What an adventure! That was fun, frustrating, satisfying, and the cause of my addiction. I have a Kundo like the round dial too. Never had a square dial, had a diamond that I gave to my sister. By the time you get all these running and keeping time, you'll be hooked forever! Enjoy

    Unfortunately, your pics are not too clear. I'm guessing the Schatz is plate 1014B from the early 1950's. It takes a .004" suspension spring.
    The Kundo dates to the same period, but I can't match the plate exactly. It will use a .0032" spring. These clocks were a favorite gift of soldiers as the war wound down and they were contemplating shipping home. They could be purchased in the PX on base.
