Default Small black forest alarm clock runs too fast.

I cleaned the clock and now it runs like the dickens, can't stop it. In fact, runs about 2 hours fast a day. It has a crude balance wheel with hairspring.

    Hi 107
How was it before? Crude balance wheel? Wossat?
Suggestions, assuming it is a pin pallet escapement:

Pallet pins worn or bent and drop occurring on impulse face.

Lack of power causing a poor arc.

    Hairspring pinned too short

Hairspring sticky or magnetised and turns sticking together

Regulator index not on outer turn of spring.

Worn or incorrect endshake on balance pivots (assuming cone pivots)

There is a hairspring. By crude, I mean nothing as well made as a watch balance wheel. It has a pin pallet.

That spring has to be dry. If you oiled it, or any part it touches you will have to start over (sorry)
A man with a clock always knows the time. A man with two clocks is never sure.
