Default Stem Extreemely Difficult To Pull Out

    Hello all,

I have a 0 size Waltham pocket watch in a 20 year warranted Crescent case. The winding stem is extreemely difficult to pull out to the setting position with the movement installed and just very hard to pull out with the movement removed. It clicks down to the winding position easily every time.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to address this problem? I have not been able to pull the stem free of the case by hand and have not tried with any tools.

    Thanks in advance!

    B ob

Maybe a bent or broken sleeve or needs a cleaning and lube of the setting mechanism.

With the movement removed from the case, place a small drop of oil onto the stem and sleeve area in the pendant. This should solve the problem.

Sounds good. I will oil the stem as advised. Thank you both!
