Default Help Identify ~ Caravelle Swiss Pocket Watch

We have came across this pocket watch and are just wanting to know any info you can give me. It is keeping perfect time. We have done some research and have came up with nothing other than a year it was made. We found a site that had the "serial number" that basically had the years they were made. N3 means 1973 and N4 means 1974
    http://thewatchguy.homestead.com/pag...ovaSerial.html

We do have pictures of all angles if needed.

On the snap plate the following is stamped or etched:

    SGR
    Caravelle Watch Division
    Bulova Watch Co.
    Swiss
    7320
    N3
    Patent and Foreign
    Patents Pending

On the inside of the watch is:

    Unadjusted
    Caravelle Watch
    N4
    Seventeen (wrote out)
    17 Jewels Swiss

Wolfman, top right main page no appraisals.
I suggest Ebay or a similar web site to look at what watches like these that have sold for.
Or you may pm someone here to ask.

I would also like to know if anyone can tell me, if this would be a gold filled, or plated watch. As im pretty sure its not pure gold.

There is nothing in your first post which indicates anything about the case material.

Where would the case material be listed and what kind symbols do I need to look for?

Assuming (for the moment) that it's a Swiss case, there are a range of marks denoting gold - the most common being a squirrel, a woman's head in profile, and a (tiny) chevron. Also, there would be a number (usually 14 or 18) denoting the caratage often accompanied by the letter K, sometimesa crown, and sometimes the numbers 0,585 or 0,750. These marks would all appear inside the back cover or the cuvette (the dust cover over the movement), and some of them repeated on all covers.

As far as I know, there are no Swiss marks for gold plated, but that would normally be described in (French) words such as "Plaque d'Or".

Below is a photo of case marks for an 18 karat case. The marks at the bottom show 0,750 and 18K (both meaning 18 karat) and the woman's head which is the Swiss mark for 18 karat.
