    Default 1953 Bulova self winding

I have this Bulova Self Winding wrist watch marked L3 on the back (1953). It self winds and runs but 1/2 of the second hand is broken off and the crystal and face are dirty. I read about these being 23 or 30 jewel watches but I see nothing external to tell me that and I do not have tools to remove the back to check inside. Can anyone tell if I have one of the 23 or 30 jewel watches by viewing my photos? Is it worthy of the cost of repair and cleaning of dial and hands, replacing second hand and crystal? Thanks.

If you were to get someone to open it for you, I'm 99 44/100 % sure it is 17-jewels.

I just cleaned and oiled an identical watch last night.

It's a 17 jewel unless someone has replaced the movement or dial. 11ACAC most likely.

23 and 30 jewel movements are marked on the dial as a rule.
