Default Please help with any info on Champ Watch Co.

If anyone could please help me with any information on this pocket watch from the Champ Watch Co. Switzerland. Sorry about the pictures I don't have a very good camera. On the inside on the back of the pocket watch it has Champ Watch Co. Switzerland stamped, 15 jewels, 3 adjustments its a pretty small pocket watch. On the front it says Champ and at the bottom it says swiss. Now the back plate on the inside it says Illinois Watch Case Company -Elgin- warrented (Giant) 20 yrs 9 3/4. The Elgin Case really thru me off. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

    From Pritchard:

Champ Watch Co was one of the company names of Louis Muller & Cie SA, Bienne, Switzerland. Champ was one of their brand names.

The main company was founded 1854, later changed its name to La Champagne, and under that name continued until at least the 1950s. By the 1960s the Champ brand seems to have been acquired b y Nicolet Watch Co of Tramelan.

Champ watches were imported by Omega, New York in 1910 and 1924. Since yours has an Illinois case, this will probably be one of those American imports, and the watch does look 1910-30 in style.
