How to polish the gold plated stainless steel case and bracelet ?

I have a Bulova dress watch with stainless steel gold plated, since I don't know how thick the plating was ( could be 1 micron ), if I do the buffing, will the gold come-off ? Or any method to polish ?

This buffing you are talking about (even slight) will remove the gold plating, if this is a gold filled watch from the earlier days, you could manage a light polishing. However, if this is a modern Bulova- this will wreck the look of your watch as the gold plating will be very thin. Cheers

Try a very light rubbing/polishing with muslin cloth using Silverex
