I would like to have some suggestions on good watch repair books for the beginner. I am a clock person wanting to move into watches. I would also appreciate suggestions on movements for the beginner.
Thanks,
Gary G

Here's the advice I got when I asked for help on how to get started, which was quite good.
2 books in particular: Henry Fried's "Watch Repairer's Manual", and DeCarle's "Practical Watch Repair." Both are available through the NAWCC library, and are well worth owning.
The videos by Bob Tascione are also helpful, and are also available through the library.
Have fun, and good luck!
John
John made excellent suggestions. I would also add:
Practical Benchwork for Horologists
By Louis and Samuel Levin
and
Modern Watch Repairing and Adjusting
By John J. Bowman and Emile Borer
As a more advanced selection I would also highly recommend:
Watchmaking
By George Daniels
But really, in this business can one ever have too many books? I don't think so.
Richard Rogers
Many thanks for your comments and suggestions.
