    Default Swiss Watch ID

    Hello fellow Collectors,
Well I think I did the unthinkable the other week and purchased a Swiss 16 size watch (For the case only).
But when I received it I decided to get more practise and clean and service it.
I started to pull it down, all the plates, wheels, and dial and then I got to the clutch assem.
Well when I pulled the cover plate off, a small spring shot out and that was the last I saw of that. I then thought I would confine it to the bottom draw.
I had a second look at it and then I thought I'd try to craft one out of a spring from of an Illinois parts movement that I have.
I put it back together and have been wearing it every day since just to see if it will keep working.
Well to my surprise it does and is keeping remarkable time only loosing about a minute a week and that is before I start to adjust it.
I have never collected any Swiss watches in the past and I wasn't sure if I did the wrong thing or not but for the $10.00 buy price I thought I couldn't go wrong.
Can anybody give me any information as to it's age, make and quality.
It reads M.A. Mead & Co. Grade 470, 17 jewel and on the balance cock it has "MOG"
Here are a couple of pictures of it. (Shame about the Dial)
    Cheers
    Gary

Checked my copy of Shugart and MOG is the USA importation code for Mead & Co. and Boulevard is probably a brand name. I'm thinking that the watch is from the late 1920s-early 1930s. Possibly Tavannes.

    From Dr. Roland Ranfft's archive:

About the import code MOG: Avia, Degoumois & Cie.
    M.A. Mead & Co., Boulevard.
    http://www.ranfft.de/uhr/info-uscode-e.html

About the name Boulevard: Brand of the manufacturer Avia, Degoumois & Cie (Neuchatel, La Chaux de Fonds) and the distributor M.A. Mead & Co (Chicago).
