    Default Wiki Update

What is going on with "Update: " for the article Titles?

    How can they be cleared?

I have been working on the User Profile bug that showed up. Blogs have been temporarily disabled.

I will check out the title handling. Renaming should now work correctly but the order of cleanup of posts that generated clones will need some care. Please give me the list and let me take care of them.

The following titles may have problems:

    Update: Pocket Watch Jewels
    Update: The Original Pocket Watch
Update: Additional NAMES for American watch companies
Update: New york standard watch company
    American Waltham Watch Co
    Moved: Elgin Pocketwatch

    Also please test:

Fake American dials and add ons ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)

    V&C (Edit) ’ Vacheron & Constantin
Waltham Watch Company (Edit) ’ [book]Waltham Watch Co.[/book]

I have put together a report on problems revealed by Special Pages that I will transmit to CES. It includes the spurious broken redirects and multiple redirects.

I will make a pass a the other trouble articles shortly.

Sam, do you know where the prefixes are coming from in these names?

Exclamation Re: Wiki Update (By: kirxklox)

CES has responded to some of the issues I posted on their support forums last night. One response was a fix to the special pages listings of Category information. I will implement that later today.

The problem that caused me to disable blogs has been resolved and blogs are now available for all NAWCC members. This impacts the Wiki because we have an outlet for opinions and other material that does not fit in either the Wiki or Forum formats.

Tom: That is pretty good. Talk about shooting this system in the HEAD!

I have placed several Original Articles on the WIKI. Does that make them unacceptable?

How are you going to deal with Editorials?

How are you going to deal with Titles?

Does that mean only your FRIENDS can use it without being ostrasized?

The more HOOPS you make people jump through the less it will be used.

Personal opinions that are not part of a conversation belong in blogs, I think. However, I am not the moderator of anything here or in the Wiki.

I will provide mechanisms that can be used to separate the content into useful variants.

If you want to hear my preferences; Forums are for problem solving and data sharing, blogs are for editorial expression by individuals and the wiki is for content that the NAWCC is willing to stand behind and represents a consensus view of historical or technical facts.

We also have Social Group discussions available for informal groups that want to get together for discussions that do not fit into any of the categories we have provided in the forums.
