Default Pocket Watch Snap Back Won't Stay Shut

I just got this Elgin pocket watch with a snap back case, and no matter what I do a few seconds later after I close it, the back pops back open. Is there anything I can do to make it shut better.

    Thanks for your help

It would depend on what was causing the problem. Check to see if it is a worn rim, bent part, debris, or something else that is causing the trouble. Knowing the cause will suggest a solution.

Check all screws inside the movement, sometime the case screw could on the way if not complete screw in.
Next check inside of the back case, notice any mark left by touching parts on movement, if not, check the shape of back case by placing the case back on bench or any flat surface, push down one side, check to see the other side lift up, continue this with all corners, just make sure the back case is flat on edge.
If still have not find any problem, check the gripping edge on inside of the back case, are all edge smotth and no dent? how about and front case? check all around the edge.
Beyound this part will be the casemaker's skill to fix, bring to a watchmaker has casemaking experience. (Need Casemaker's tool set)
