    Default Saxony Wrist Watch???

I came across a wristwatch. The name on dial is "SAXONY" When I removed the crystal, you can see on the dial it appears ceramic paint was applied (as it's a shade off)under the 12 o'clock position and SAXONY is on top of the ceramic paint. The mechanics are only 1 jewel, it reads on mechanics: VOS, UNADJUSTED, SWISS MADE, GK, ONE 1 JEWEL, SHEFFIELD WATCH INC.
The back outside cover is stamped: Electronically Timed, Anti-Magnetic, Swiss Made. Theres' a triangle in the middle reading "diamond tooled base metal" The inside case reads "Sheffield Watch Inc Case Swiss Made"
I did a search for Saxony on NAWCC but only came up w/results on pocket watches and the town of Saxony.
I know this watch is not anything great, 1 jewel is more embarrassing (I think) then no jewels! Anyway, is this a "made up" watch to appear to be worth more than it's worth? I didn't pay much for it, in fact I bought it in a lot of 20 for around $15. I'm just curious as if anyone has ever come across something similar and if so, what info do you have? I'm wondering more if theres' an analagy like how the Hormilton's were to the Hamiltons'. Thanks and I look forward to any info just for my curiousity! Elaine

    Bentpro,

You have posted to a thread that is about 8 years old. I think it is long dead by now. If your watch says Sheffield on it anywhere (as did the one in the original post), that likely refers to a costume jewellery company by the name of Sheffield that existed (in Canada, anyway) during the 1960s and 1970s. Their watches were very cheaply made in order that they fitted in with their jewellery lines. Yours may be a better movement than the one in the original thread, but you give no details about it.
