Default Wm. Wise and son clock

I have a beautifull pendulum clock . It is about 10 inches high and surrounded by beveled glass. I think it is mercury weighted. The id on the face says; wm. Wise and son. Inside it says 1941 and has usa on it. I have heard that this co went out of business in germany at the stsart of the war. Did a us co . Take over and rehalmark them Would appreciate any help!!! Interesting, Frank. Spittlers' and Bailey's American Clockmakers and Watchmakers lists Wise, William and Sons: Brooklin, NY Ca 1830, and Wise, William, Brooklin NY, Ca: 1835 and later.
A picture of the clock in question may help to date it.

Frank, I guess it is quite possible that this family business did span over 100 years.

William Wise and William Wise & Sons was a watchmaker and jeweler in downtown Brooklyn. The store was still listed in a 1955 directory. I imagine he was the retailer of Don's clock.
