Dating an Arnex Ladies Pocket Watch
Hello all - Glad to have this fantastic group of experts!!
I found a ladies, ornate, gold colored pocket watch in beautiful cosmetic condition, but I cannot find any information on dating it. I don't see a serial number on it anywhere either.
The movement reads:
Anguenot Freres
Seventeen 17 Jewels
France Unadjusted
The inside of the case, facing the movement reads:
Arnex Time Co.
France
70 Microns 6F
The face reads:
Arnex
Incabloc
17 Jewels
France
Any thoughts or direction?
Thanks in advance - Lori

Re: Dating an Arnex Ladies Pocket Watch
Lori,
Your watch has a modern movement, and is most likely a retro piece designed to appear old. These watches were quite popular in the 1960s and 1970s.
If you can provide clear photos, particularly of the movement, we might be able to give more detail, but what you've described so far is definitely post-World War Two, and likely even younger.

Lori,
Based on the styling, I stand by my original guess. The movement appears to be a product of the Jeanbrun company, and it's features and finish have the look of recent production.
I'd say somewhere in the late 1960s to mid 1970s would be the best bet for a date.
