    Default Medaille D' Bronze

Got this out of an old antique store that close some years ago. Anyone tell me how old it is? It has a marble case and marked on the back of the movement, Medaille D' Bronze L Marti, 2002, 48.
It needs some marble for the bottom. Anyone know were I could get some? Thanks, Mark

I did notice it has all three parts, movement, bezel and pendulum have matching numbers "2002"

It is pin together and if you look inside it has JB in an oval mark.

Looks to advance for me to fix.

Mark, You might try a tombstone maker for the marble. Others have had limited luck with that source. Actually it is probably slate though. The T/S maker can tell for sure.

I'm no expert on the subject but is it possible you've misread an S as an L? If it is S (for Samuel) then the Medaille de Bronze could refer to 1860 (meaning that the clock is post 1860 and pre 1889 when they won a Medaille de Argent (silver). Your L may also be an F. Fritz Marti won a bronze in the early 1900's.

Definitely S Marti. Most likely the JB in an oval is the clockmaker who finished a roulant supplied by Marti. The 4.8 is almost certainly the pendulum length in French inches. I have seen that Lourdelet patent mark before, I think it was to do with a pendulum locking device but can't remember for sure.
