    Default K & D Staking Set

    What type of work is the K & D Staking Set with the JEWELLING TOOL ATTACHMENT for? Clock or Watch Repair?

    Watch repair... though you could also use it for some clock repair. The jewelling attachment is really just for watches.

    Unfortunately There is little on the use of the watchmakers staking tool set other than some vague descripitions. I assume you are refering to the K&D "Inverto" set Fortunately it is a very handy tool for both watchmaking that it was desgned for and clock work especially a Micrometer jeweling attachment. You just have to be creative. One use of the micrometer handle would be to install pin wheel pins to a controlled uniform depth.
    Another would be to control the depth of a punch when straightening a difficult bent Arbor across two stumps that simply cannot be damaged. Even another is the controlled use of various punch shapes to form small metal parts/springs used in both clocks and watches. The list goes on and on and is limited only by your imagination.
