not sure, but if you download to the thread, it automatically resizes...

If you want the image to appear a larger size, you must host off-line and link to the URL...

you can also upload to the user area under USER FILES download to it and link from there...these USER FILE can either be private or public.. the image will show full size...

here is a 1079/1359 image downloaded to the thread

I've noticed that I no longer need to resize my pictures to post, in fact I can no longer use the pic editor on the message board to do anything. Something has been recently changed. Not complaining, just pointing it out. Saves me lots of time not having to go though the pic editor to resize.
But I do find oversized pictures to be a pain to look at, and it makes the whole thread too wide.

There are a couple of things done to help speed up the Server Response time.

Things that everyone can do is to:

    Post one picture perpost!
Size all images to 450 px at 100 dpi MAXIMUM

The speed of loading a page is determined by the Total Bandwidth being Used by that page.

In a recent thread, a pic I was trying to post kept getting the message that it was too large. "Make it smaller and try again."

    How large is too large

Bangster: I do not know what you tried to do so I can not try to duplicate your problem.

Are you saying we should post only one photo per "Reply"? So if we have several pictures on the same theme, we should put each one in a seperate "Reply"?

I am not sure what you mean by "per post".

The attachment maximum size is currently set to 400 kb, I think. There are two setting for image attachments and images and the sizes are not the same. It may relate to what can be uploaded as opposed to attached.

External references have no limits. It is pretty hard to impose those without code to edit the content of the image tags by acutally grabbing the target and putting it somewhere else. I don't think we will be doing that.

    This should be a piece-of-cake:

All tricked out. And then some.

The difference is simple. bbBoard v2 is written in the most powerful scripting language on the Internet: Perl 5. You can change anything you want by hacking into the code -- add admin privileges, modify HTML, add database backends and create add-ons. But its flexibility is about more than hacking. You can also create templates for each page, change forum views, change colors and images and anything else. Want to integrate other software? Just use bbv2's programming APIs. When we say customizable, we mean it.

    Thank you Sam.

RobertG: This MB allows 8 images per post and then some. That is over 800 KB per post if each image is 100 KB. This MB allow 20 posts per page and if each post had that many images it would take a LOOOOOONG time to open. Even at 1 image per post that is a fairly large bandwidth.

I recommend each user only post 1 image per post.

Each Reply is called a Post.

    Tom,

Sam is right this board can be customized to do just about anything. The problem is we need to find someone that is willing to spent the time needed to make the changes that are being requested instead of just dodging the questions/request.

Jeff: For the most part I am very happy with the Skinning that you did. The vibrant colors and the cool look background makes it interesting yet fairly easy to read and reduces eye-strain.

If Tom wants to spend the Man Days to make more changes that is his perogative. I am positive it is easy as apple pie.
