New Members only

Is this a new forum avaialble only to members? or is it forum only for new members? Is this "members only" of the Bulletin Board or of the NAWCC?

Dr. Jon,

Currently one forum is for New NAWCC members only and the other forum(s) is for all verified NAWCC members. The New Members only forum is a place where new members will be able to ask question of each other and the moderators in a more private setting until they get more comfortable with the message board and how the NAWCC works. The Bulletin Board Forum is where authors that have published articles in the Bulletin can come and discuss their article with the membership. Not all articles will be discussed and the author must agree to participate. The discussion thread will only be open for 2 months, at the time the thread will be locked and a new article will be uploaded and a new topic started.

To gain access to these forums message board members will need to update their profiles with the required information so their membership in the NAWCC can be verified. After they have updated their information they will then need to send me an email requesting access to the new forums. Nobody will be automatically registered for the new members only forums.

Personal information gathered here will only be used by the NAWCC for
its official uses. The same rules apply as with information gathered
by the NAWCC through membership applications, membership renewals,
event registrations and other forms. Personal data is not sold or
shared with others outside of the NAWCC.

Jeff, could you please define "new members". Less than a year? Less than 2 years?

And does this mean it's not open to "long-time members"? Or other members?

I still see some possible confusion coming here. "New Members only" would seem to imply that only "new members" can have access.

My profile has a "membership valid through" entry, but not a "member since". Will you be checking everyone to see when they first became a member? I renew annually, so my "membership valid through" will always be less than 360 days.

Does any of this even matter?

Maybe it's just the forum name that's throwing me.

The New Members forum is for members with less than two years in the NAWCC. Yes only New members will have access to this one forum. It is a way to easy them into the business of the NAWCC and the message board.

The files I am using to verify membership has when you joined and when your membership expires. I am using the "Valid Thru" information to verification purposes.

I will add a better explanation to the New Members forum.

If all goes as planned the New Forums will be open this weekend.
