    Default Identify ladies Bulova

    It might not be easy to read on a Lady's watch, but there should be some numbers on the movement. That should hopefully help someone provide information regarding your mother's watch.

    Default Identify ladies Bulova

    Look on the back of the watch case. There may be a letter and number designation, like L5.

    Bulova only started dating their watches in 1949. 1949 was designated A9. From 1950 on they used the following designations. The letter stands for the decade and then the year number.
    L=50, so L4 is 1954
    M=60
    N=70

    Before then, you cannot really get an accurate date, but just have to go on the general style.

    I hope this helps
