Default Aquired Grandfather's Pocket Watch...looking for info.

    Heather,

What you have is a watch with no jewels, and what is known as a pin lever escapement. These were called "dollar" watches at the turn of the 20th century because that is what they sold for. By the mid 1940s, these were selling for about $ 4.50 to $ 5.00. The 9 and 58 means then watch was made in September, 1958. So you will have to be the judge as to whether it might have been you great grandfather's watch.

    Enjoy!

    Heather,

I have done a bit more checking, and the Coronado name has been seen on watches made by the Westclox Clock Co., co-incidentally of LaSalle, Ill. So your watch is of the same ilk as the Westclox Dax and Big Ben pocket watches.
