    Default Regina Watch Co.

    Collectors,

    Over many years of repairing, restoring, and collecting watches, I have run into many Swiss made pocket watches marked for the Regina Watch Co. To my recollection, every one I have seen has been an Omega movement. Does anyone reading this have any information about the Regina Watch Co. that they would share? Was Regina a contract watch, was the company an independant distributor, or was Regina a second line to Omega?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Doug S.

    Hi Doug,
    Pritchard's book shows the following;
    REGINA WATCH CO. SA, Bienne
    History: The name "REGINA" was trade marked by LOUIS MAIER, Bienne, in 1888. It was trade marked by OMEGA in 1911.
    REGINA WATCH CO. SA was listed in 1923 - 1924.
    REGINA was imported by OMEGA WATCH CO. NEW YORK in 1924.

    MAIER, LOUIS, Bienne
    Trade marks: "Regina" on a rectangle with a garland (1888)

    Barry,

    Thank you very much. Your post is appreciated. I must swallow hard and shell out some Canadian dollars and buy Kathleen Pritchard's book. It is a good reference I am finding.
