Windsor Elegant Identity
Greetings, I have an eight day pocket watch, swiss made, bearing Windsor Elegant at the top of the face. I beleive it is a jeweled movement. Very nice scrolled silver back cover. Visible balance wheel, with gold inlaid scroll work in the face. Can't find any information about it at all. Any idea on history? Age, who made it, sold it etc? Thanks. Larry

Larry,
Welcome to the NAWCC Message Board!
Without a picture, or more description, I'm going to say that it sounds like a Hebdomas 8-day pocket watch with a different private label name. Does it resemble any of the watches on this website? Click on the link and check out the watches shown, and get back to us please.

Thanks for the reply. It does look somewhat like those in that the face is about 2/3 size, balance wheel revealed and so on. I'll post a picture as soon as I get a moment. Can you tell me anything about Hebdomas? Thanks and regards. Larry

Larry,
By using the FIND feature at the top of the page to access the Message Board archives, I found old ref::this thread which contains some information about the Hebdomas name. Check it over and get back to us, hopefully with a picture so we can confirm if yours is the Hebdomas type with a different name.

Doug, after reading the threads I think you put me on the right track. It sure seems that I have a Hebdomas. There is a faded name stamp inside the back cover that I think is the store that sold it, and once I'm able to read it I'll see if I can run that down. Thanks again. I'll still post a pix when I get home. Larry
