Where to go in Fla?
Anyone that plans to attend should exercise extreme caution. Colombian gangs have been working South Florida for years, targeting jewelry reps for the most part; I understand they also have hit watch dealers.

Where to go in Fla?
I am careful on the road. I am no stanger to getting hit by the Columbians. I was hit in NYC in 1990 and then at the same Atlanta National that Jon speaks of above.
Knock on wood I have not been hit in ten years but it is fresh on my mind and I am very careful on the road.
My insurance company took care of me after an initial hold-out phase. They paid because I had a good inventory and because the Hotel Camera caught the Columbian gang on tape.
Make no mistake about it. If they want you they will get you.
The tape showed that it took exactly three seconds to pull it off.
I was standing at the check in desk. The time on the lobby surveillence camera was 5:06:2 as the small Columbian man moved from behind a pole..5:06:03 he was bent down getting my case loose from the cart...at 5:06:04 he was at the door and at 5:06:05 he jumped into a still moving car in front of the hotel.
I suggest using one of those laptop alarms connected to your bag. If you move more than 5 feet from your bag a siren goes off.
Be careful.

Peter,
Keep your brain on and it should be as safe as Sweden, however, the weather is likely going to be a distict improvement. Good weather is responsible for Florida being known as a major destination for retirees so, perhaps, lots of those old family watches make the migration to that state too.
Jon, Is the robbery you are referring to the one involving Paul Duggan?
