Are you sure it doesn't read RGP instead of RPG?

    Linda,

Welcome to the NAWCC Message Board!

Is there an alpha-numeric code on the case back such as (for example) L3 for 1953? The BXW code simply tells us the Swiss code initials for a watch made by Bulova. The serial number tells us nothing. The 6BMC is the calibre number given to the "works" by Bulova to assist in obtaining spare parts when repairs are required. If you can post a picture, it might help us give you more information. The RGP stands for Rolled Gold Plate which usually specifies that 1/30th of the weight of the case is 10 karat yellow gold. The rest being brass.

    Linda,

It won't be MQ! The MO means 1960. A picture might help us tell you more.

    Linda,

Thanks for the pictures. Well, there isn't really much more to tell. For a watch that is 46years old, it appears to be in decent shape, and original. The bracelet appears to be a later replacement. It was made before the surge to prominence of the Asian (Japanese) watch companies took over the market in North America. Enjoy!
