Default The first mechanical clock I have purchased German Seth Thomas Clock

I'm going to a NAWCC mart next week and decided as I passed a
barn sale to stop and see if they had any watches. No pocket watches
but they had many clocks. I thought maybe I could find something
to trade for watches at the Mart next week.
I found one that looked very interesting
in the corner, and I asked what they wanted for it. It was so low
a price I had to buy the clock. So here it is.
I would guess it's not that old. I'm not looking for a value obviously.
What do you guys think of it?

    Was it made in 1979?

I do not know if 1979 was the date of manufacture or not.

The two clues that I could find to narrow the date are the ZIP code and Talley Industries as being the owner of Seth Thomas.

The five digit ZIP code was introduced in 1963, so we know it is later than that year. Someone will probably know the years that Talley owned Seth Thomas, so that should narrow the date even more.

It is possible that someone could identify the "CAT" number listed on the label.

    Regards.

UPDATE - Talley purchased General Time Corporation (which owned Seth Thomas since 1930) in 1968, so the clock is post-1967. See:

Your clock has a Hermle movement, # A 403-002, made for Seth Thomas and yes, I believe it was put together in 1979.

    Hope this helps.
