    ------------

    Here is a fellow who apparently is upset with the NAWCC and me in particular. ANyone know who he is? He has meddled in scores of my bidding for items on EBAY. Running me up to my limit by bidding 10 grand or something to find out how high I was going and then retrcting the bid. He hs been "warned" by EBAY and now he just bids me up no matter what I am bidding on. I usually just put in a rediculously high bid on something so I do not have to watch it. Inteh following case, I put in a bid of 101 bucks on 35 dollars worth of pins. Cost me 100 bucks.

    HE has done this many times and many of the auctions have subsequently been canceled. He is apparetnly a watchmaker as he does bid on a lot of watch tools.

    check out his bidding record. and his bidding names...

    Whats up with this guy?

    Jeff, This individual has 13 positive feedbacks, many of which have a link that can still be viewed. We can see what he bought, and who he bought it from. Perhaps one of those sellers, after hearing about the nonsense that this buyer is doing, would be willing to share with you this characters contact information, such as his name, address, etc?

    At least then you will know who this is.

    We could then call whichever state psychiatric facility where this character disorder no doubt resides, and suggest that the administration increase the medication, and decrease his/hers unsupervised time on the computer.

    Just a thought.

    Bill,

    Better even, is to go to search and then search by bidder and check out what he bids on rather than just wins.

    Establishing relationships with others is one of the major developmental tasks of early childhood. How well children fare at this task appears to matter as to how he/she will treat and interact with adults. It matters to the children themselves, creating a context in which they evaluate their self-worth, competence, and view of the world as pleasant or hostile It matters to their future, as the patterns of peer interaction in early childhood increasingly predict whether children will walk pathways to competence or deviance in the tasks of middle childhood and adolescence and finally into adulthood. And it matters to the other children a child comes into contact with, as the experience of children in peer groups depends in good measure on the nature of the other children with whom they interact. Yet playing nicely, making friends, and being a good friend are not all that easy for msny even in adulthood. These tasks confront them with increasing demands on their developing cognitive and emotional capacities and may indeed render them an outcast if they have acted out in a manner that may seem untoward or rude. They may be called names or punched in the snout by peers if they mess with auctions or passionate hobbies like watch collecting, therby worsening their symtomatic life meanderings.

    Jeff,

    I agree with you. It would be much more emotionally healthy and socially appropriate if this individual could just say "I don't like you, and this is why......". Instead, his flawed defense mechanisms plays out in trying to "damage you" by increasing the amount you pay at auction. Here too, this individual is demonstrating a remarkable breach in reality testing.

    I suspect that he gets excited reading these posts, and, in this sense, our posts only fuel his sense of importance. I assume that it is a "he", and if my assumption is correct, I have a feeling that the words "small, limp & deformed" make him very self-conscious and angry.

    Jeff,
    As a practical matter, I suspect your only realistic option is to bid very late on items. That way your antagonist will not have time to discover the items you are interested in. This may be inconvenient and cause you to miss out on some things if you are not available to go on line at the appropriate times.
    Happy hunting,

    Jeff;

    Another option would be to register with Ebay again using a different "handle". This id would be for bidding only. Hopefully, your antagonist would not be able to follow the switch.

    Cheers,

    Hi Jeff - Do you feel like you're back in high school? This is so childish what he's doing. Have you tried to contact him through his feedback and ask him why he's doing this? Eventdently by his Id name he's at odds with the NAWCC and taking it out on you. Maybe he doesn't like the way you part your hair. Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of these idiots.

    This person must have a problem with NAWCC,however Jeff is not the only one that gets hammered. I don't know who the person is but have noticed his handle on several e-bay auctions in the past few weeks and has pulled some of the same bidding stunts. I don't do a lot of business with e-bay . I expect one of you big players could get him scared off if you talked to e-bay.

    Truth be told, Jeff Hess among the very BIG players. That is one of the most troubling aspects of this foolishness. A powerseller with over fourteen thousand transactions is the fellow getting hammered by this individual.

    Jeff,
    I'm sorry to hear about this cyber-stalker. What amazes me more is that someone can cavalierly recind a bid; not once, but multiple times. Why can't ebay bust him?

    He's changed his name AGAIN - today it is "shill_nawcc_mb_members". It's kind of strange also that he has bid on 152 different items since he registered in March, changed his name four times now, and he has only won 13 of the 152 he has bid on. I looked thru some of his bids and on some he bid as many as 17 or 18 times and then quit. Just ran the price up. I noticed a couple, it might just be a coincidence, but they had two other people with multiple bids in a row on the same item. Who knows what this guy is up to!!! jimbob (:{
    EDIT: Something must have happened to him thru the NAWCC because here is one of his feedbacks left for a seller on EBAY: "Better than described. Great seller. I can't trust NAWCC marts, hooray for Ebay!" JB

    Does anyone remember the disgruntled NAWCC graduate that posted on this board a few months ago? He kept registering as different people and, if memory serves correctly, kept getting into it with several board users, including Jeff Hess. Could this be the culprit? I know someone managed to get the guys IP and that is how they knew he was operating as three different posters.

    In no way am I suggesting that he is responsible for the ebay stalking but he did have enough of a beef with the NAWCC to keep that thread going and going and going and...

    UPDATE:
    I went back and found the thread, do a search on 'employment non-existent for entry level watchmakers'. The poster who started the thread was dan_s. I think that he is as good a suspect as any. You can see how mad he is if you read through the thread. If this is the guy, maybe he is mad because Jeff couldn't help him as was suggested early in the thread. There are a lot of inconsistancies with this guy. First he says that he wants to just end the thread, but he keeps coming back as different users and restating his initial points.

    Jeff, if you go to his user name in ebay, you can send him a message. You will have to log in. check the following boxes: 'Send a copy of this mail to myself' and 'Hide my email address for privacy purposes'. You should see his email addy in the TO: line of the mail that you have cc'ed to. Let us know if this works. Once you have his address you may be able to find out who he is by googling it and using any whois website.

    To the message board moderator and Jeff. Don't you think this topic belongs somewhere else than "Wristwatches"? Maybe "Horological Misc"?
