Default Waltham Model 1883 Grade AmWCo

I recently bought a nice looking Waltham; Serial number 7259644 that was Sold as being a Model 1883, Grade AmWCo and dated between 1885-1902!
The watch works fine and the case is Good, 20 year 10K GF.
What worries me a "little" is that the 1883 is supposed to be a full-plate, key wind
yet mine is not, it's a stem wind and I don't think it's 18S looks more like 16S.
The number is clearly stamped on the movement!
Thoughts anyone and if it's a Franckenwatch then so be it, but $90 is not a huge amount to waste.

Phots to follow when I know how but Phots are visible Via the Pocket watch database!

Looks like there was a transcription error when the Waltham database was created. The database does indeed say it's a model '83. But, if you look at the underlying data (below), it's a model '88, which is what I suspect you really have.

The image of the watch on that database is definitely an '88 model, not an '83. The movement is of perhaps average quality, but the case may be a notch above. It looks to be gold-filled Dennison case. Cases for the '88 are model specific, so it's nice to have the model in a case. I believe that your watch could be one that was made for export. It is on export watches that I usually see Dennison cases. It looks like a nice watch overall. I think you did fine if it's running well. Enjoy.
