    Default New Watch to Fix

    Hi Everyone,
For those who have seen me on here in the past I love to get bad watches and fix them up and I have another one to fix that I picked up from that internet auction site. I'm after a bit of information about which dial will work with the movement and case era.
I don't have it yet as it is in transit to me and I know there will be lots of work to getting it running again but this is what I love to do.
Any help or information on which dial and hands I should be looking for would be most appreciated.
I have attached a couple of pictures of the offending watch.

    Cheers
    Gary

You'll need a "Railway Special" marked Melamine dial Gary and pair it with a set of Stick & Spade hands (movement looks to be a 1951 production date), that style of the second hand looks correct but hard to see in the photo. Also that bow is incorrect as is the crown by the looks of it.

    Bila,
Thanks for that, once I get it in my hands I'll be able to make a more detailed assessment of what it needs.
I thought the dial would have to be as you stated but have seen other dials on similar watches. As for bow and crown not sure what to do there as finding the correct ones may prove very difficult so a replacement case may be in order.
Would this be a model #16 case.

    Cheers

Thanks everyone for replying and I'll keep you informed as to the progress.
I will find the correct bow and probable contact William White for a new glass crystal.

    Cheers

    Hi All,
    Just an update and question.

First of all the watch hasn't arrived yet but I believe it should be here today.
Question:- It's obvious that a new dial and hands are in order but what color hands should I look for.
Bright blue or the darker set as both are out there but not sure which one to go for.
    Cheers

I think darker is the appropriate one.
