    Default Cats take the title

Why is the CAT the world's most popular pet?

I know I will get in trouble for saying this but
while I do really like(love) our cat, the kitty litter is
really a part I don't like. In fact it's stinks, literally
    and figuratively.

    Jim:

Not where I come from....Ther are more cats in homes than dogs, dogs are bigger eaters, they may require more food.

True facts....Cats are king in the household in every country, [Do you ever hear of hype?] That's what your specimen is doing.

I am a cat lover too,
But something seems to make a false case for dogs being better, people actually pay each other for dogs!
Does not make sense to me due to how much damage dogs do to the home, inside or out,,,
    My 2 cents.

Well, as a dog and cat owner who personally feels more of an affinity with dogs, I have to point out that in real, scientific studies, it is in fact fresh water fish which are the most popular pet world wide. I am not sure I would put much faith in what the pet food industry has to say given you can't even trust what most of them say they put in their product.

    Question?

FISH? Egad. Can you play with a fish, pet a fish, look lovingly at a fish, take it with you wherever you go, remove it from water...POOF!

Then again, maybe I am mishigah! {nuts]

I have no love for cats, sorry. Dogs do many good things for us, i am a dog person. I am glad though the people that have cats do enjoy them and love them.

You might want to try this. My daughter has a Maine Coon Cat whose smell could force an evacuation of the neighborhood!

She went with this product that uses pellets that do not clump. The wet part sinks through holes in the device so it is captured in an absorbent material (much like diapers). It can then be cleaned out.

Smells are non-existant or close thereto.

P.S. She also has a Golden Retriever.

I have a snake, and it definitely does not get along with the other pets

Thank goodness for cats when it is 10 degrees and snowing outside, find a dog that will use a litter box. I have had both and prefer cats because you can go away for a week, leave enough food and water behind and you're set. As for damage to the house, they can both do a lot, cats love to claw everything but the last dog I had ate half a couch in one day while my ex-wife and I were at work.

    Shutter,
I don't think it is a matter of the Snake getting along, I think the other animals do not get along.
