    Default Re-casing old movements

Does making new cases for old movements qualify for entry under latest acquisition?

Well, if you made it then it isn't an acquisition.

    Dickstorer,

We'd all love to see your clock. Projects like yours are always interesting. And, it IS new, so why not? Bring it on!

The case is home made and the movement is a repro ST 2. It is number 5, I have made 2 more and am working on number 8.

THTanner, I could not live without a router. Thanks for the compliment.

musicguy, it has my name on the dial. I will put the date on the back of the dial.

    Dickstorer,

Thanks for posting! Simply outstanding work- you seem to have quite a talent there. I only wish I had woodworking and brass working skills. My house would be FULL of clocks I had made... On second thought, there is the "wife" problem. She is lovely and tolerant, but only up to a point...

    Best to all,

    George

very nice. i have three ST 2s and a couple of 61A movements (one original, one repro... 30 teeth, beat seconds) with custom cases. i prefer brass beat indicators, but would be happy to hang yours on one of my walls... if i had any room left! 8-)
i collect antique clocks because i get all that extra time...

Here is 2 morethe one on the right is my version of a number 2. On the right is another, made from Lyptus, with a modified repro number 2. Modified from a 80 beat to a 72 beat. The dial on the right is signed, thanks to Allan Wolff.
