Default Can you help me ID this clock?

Hi folks. We came across this clock cleaning out my Dad's things and I have no idea what it was used for...besides telling time, and how I could tell it's age. My Dad worked for GE so I thought maybe an industrial type of clock. He was also I the Navy WWII. So maybe nautical. I searched the usual spots on the interweb, eBay, Google, etc. I've seen similar items listed under both, but not this particular one. I did see a C14' but was a bit different and the descriptions always were vague. It does run and keeps time, but without moving he hands, you cant set it. It also has two places where you can connect wires to in a series. It's cast iron and thick heavy glass, weighs aprox 10lbs. Since it works, I was going to clean and repair it for my sister or keep the "patina" and put it in the cave at my place. :-) I can take more pictures if that helps.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help. Id appreciate any little bit.

I'm probably incorrect, I often am but it sounds like it could have been attached to a time clock or bundy clock. However it could be a clock attached to any timed device such as an electric stove.

This link will answer all of your questions. http://www.telechron.net/forager/index.php?topic=1295.0 According to the tag, it will send a one second pulse every 15 minutes to activate or time something.

    Best,

They seemed pretty confused too. That one clock's mechanism seems to be pretty much like mine. The contact type of part and the swing arm looking item are on mine too. If you move the swing arm piece, the hands move. Someone said something about impulses. My label says INT 15 mins. Maybe its some type of timer?
Im going to go back and plug it in an try and see if something happens in 15 min. intervals. I'll have it apart. Is there anything you'd like to see? Thanks again

There are various measuring devices that may require such an impulse. I know of one that tests the water table every half hour for example.

Perhaps if Naval, a sonar impulse?

I've moved this to the Electric Horology forum to see if additional responses are forthcoming.
