Default Aiguilles Quartre Trous en Jovaux, key wind, Hanging Barrel?

Hi, I am still sorting through my Pocket Watches and I found this: "Aiguilles Quartre Trous en Jovaux". I really like it and it looks to be a Quality Pocket Watch; Silver with Gold Trimmings on the Case and a Snap-on Dial. It runs very nicely and the only things that are missing are an under Dial wheel and the Hands. What I would like to know is who was the Maker and what do the Hallmarks and maybe the Makers mark mean? Looks like a set of Traffic Lights near the Number 539. Hi, I made a stuff-up in the spelling of "Quatre" and I think that "Joyaux" (French) means gems-jewels. Regards Ray

"Aiguilles" refers only to the key hand setting mechanism which is immediately alongside the word itself. ("Aiguilles" = needles = hands).
"Quatre trous en joyaux" literally means "four jewelled holes", which others will be better able to interpret.

Hi, the Pocket Watch is very slim, shown next to another Key Wind Pocket Watch of similar diameter It looks like the Gold Trim on the Case is Solid Gold; there is no place where it is worn through. Regards Ray Click image for larger version.

Hi, I don't seem to be getting anywhere with this Pocket Watch, so I am including the Hallmark and the Makers Mark. Regards Ray Click image for larger version.

    Hi Ray,

I think the chevrons in a shield is the canton mark for Neuchatel. No idea about the "C.V" I'm afraid.

Well at least it is some clue I thought that lots of people would know about this Pocket Watch. Here is the Snap-on Dial Makers mark. Click image for larger version.

Yes, the Neuchatel punch is upside down - which fooled me.

I suppose the "CV" might just possibly have something to do with Courvoisier who were in that region, but it's a very long shot.......

Where is Enrico when we need him?

    Hi Paul,
Where is Enrico when we need him?
I'll second that. "Lets Enrico it" should be a standard term to find out about "Obscure-Little is known" Makers. Regards Ray

Thanks Kinpol, I found an almost the same but a bit later Pocket Watch with seconds and an almost identical Case. Jean-Antoine Lépine ( 1720- 1814 ), was a revolutionary and inventive French watch and clockmaker, who contributed with crucial inventions for watchmaking still used nowadays. He was amongst the finest French watchmakers, who were years ahead of every other country in this respect. Regards Ray
