    Default Westfield and Hamilton pickups!

Recently came across a Westfield Carlton the other day for $5. How would you guys rate the condition on this thing? It's all original! Needs a new crystal for sure as this one has yellowed. Debating whether or not it's too beat up to get serviced!! I think it's quite nice espcially since the dial has never been touched up on ever...

Finally trying to figure out if this Hamilton has been redialed. It's a Bagley from 1939. I just bought one of the last NOS crystals I could find online for it. Needs service as well. Case is in great condition!! Thoughts? $5 as well.

Do you seriously think you can go wrong for that kind of money.

Where do you guys shop to find these deals? Something like that around here would be listed as mint condition for $200,

Nice pick up, but why no pictures of the Westfield?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

The dial doesn't look refinished, or any such thing, to me. And the case is very cool. Cool enough that it looks like there's a reissue out there. I like the "Pincer lugs" (At least that's what I'd call them.). Good luck with it.

Does anyone other than me find it "rude" where the OP starts a thread but doesn't bother to check in or update or answer questions that his thread creates.

And we sometimes wonder why participation has decreased over the last few years......

This site isn't easy to use, it's confusing and complicated more than other sites. Maybe this person feels the same way.

    Hi Hawk,

I would give the guy some slack. I welcome him back here anytime. Oft times, folks get busy, sometimes people don't "live on the net" and only check on line from time to time. Or maybe, (hopefully not) a family emergency.

Odd, bit I find this site one of the easiest to use. One of the biggest watch sites it WAY harder to use. (I will not name them)

Thanks for the participation but lets keep this positive guys.

Yup, I've never had any problem using or navigating.

Jeff, I don't "live" on the net, but I do feel it's bad form not to respond to anyone who has taken the time to contribute to any thread I've started.

Its because you guys use it all the time, so it's easier for you. It's a bit different than others is all I am saying. Others I agree are harder, some easier.

It's all good, but I was just suggesting maybe that's why?

It was kind of tricky for me also when I first started surfing the Net about 6 years ago.
