    Default Dial Gear Assembly

Removed dial gear assembly from a local project. I believe this was originally a George Stevens installation that was replaced with a howard. Is this correct ?

Aaron Crane was the originator of these devices, he held the patents on them and built a wide range of clocks up to and including tower clocks IIRC.

And yes, while it was the invention of Crane he evidently was in a partnership on the tower clock pieces with the Turret and Marine clock company with Stevens in 1858 and in 1864 it went to Geo. M. Stevens and Company.....
