Not knowing any better, I'd expect the pendulum shaft to be the same color as the metal of the face or a wood shaft the same color as the clock.

I've merged the two threads on this clock. Easier to follow that way.

    Thanks Steve,

I noticed that Kroeber category had not been used in quite some time, so I posted on both threads!

Thanks for the info, I posted on the Kroeber thread and did not think it was active!

    Hi Les,

    Beautiful clock!

I checked in my Kroeber book. The picture shows a fancy glass pendulum, but next to it is a Regulator 43 with a similar plain pendulum to your's.

The style may be correct, but I agree with Robert that it probably would have matched the metal on the dial pan.

These permanent threads are not very active. I suspect most folks do no know they are there or have forgotten.

FWIW, Tran's Kroeber book shows the No. 44 with a different pendulum, one like this, with a longer rod, of course.

He does show what might be the same pendulum on the No. 43. The rod is black, but since the catalogue picture is B&W, little help for the color of the bob. Also not much help on the size, because the 43 is a larger clock (43" high vs. 30" for the 44). Antiqueclockspriceguide.com shows a few Kroeber regulators with essentially the same pendulum as on yours, like this No. 45. I suspect they came with more than one style pendulum. Perhaps one could choose what pendulum he wanted with the clock.

Here is a Kroeber 46 pendulum which I believe to be original to the Kroeber signed movement.

The bob is approximately 3 5/8" in diameter.

The face is NOT original, in fact, it is a Waterbury, so ignore it.:
