A drawing of this clock from the 1886 Ansonia Catalog shows up in Tran Duy Ly's 1998 Ansonia Book. The name of the clock is "Good Luck". The description of the clock includes this information: "Bronze and Nickel Finish. ONE DAY TIME. ONE DAY TIME, ALARM. Dial, 4 inches. Height, 6 1/2 inches". Your clock appears to be the time only version. David, Owen.or

    Hi, All,

Isn't a horseshoe supposed to be placed with the open part up to be good luck? It's my understanding that your "luck" will fall out of it if it is displayed upside down as it is on this clock. Just a bit of a nonsense observation...

    Best to all,

    George Nelson

Yes I've heard that as well. Maybe it only applies to proper horseshoes which this isn't.

    Hi, ldh,

I'll keep looking through my reproduction catalog collection for more info for you. If anything turns up, I'll post here.
