    Default Vienna Clock case

Please can anyone help. I am about to undertake a project on the Vienna case below The top & Bottom parts of the case is missing and I want to make the parts as near to the original design as possible but have no idea as to what they are. I wondered if anybody has a picture of the case in question. If I cannot get an answer i will invent my own design. Fenner

I can't see them either - just two little squares at the bottom of your post.

This seems strange to me they are on the posting that I bring up they were inserted using the camera picture and they are both jpeg files. I will try again. These have been selected with the camera (add image) and uploaded and appears in my posting just before I submit.

There were many variations of cases such as these. Unless you can find someone who has a catalog of the clock, and that means, knowing who the maker is, the best you can do is go to Timesavers.com or similar clock supply house and replicate as best you can the pieces you will need which appear to be the top crown and the bottom 3 finials. "Inventing your own design" might be the most practical course of action.

As you are in the UK, you could have a look at Meadow & Passmore's site (they are just outside Brighton). They have a selection of ready-made crowns for Vienna cases, and a large selection of finials as well. (m-p.co.uk is the website).

    Hope this helps.

To show you that it can be done effectively I received a Junghans "Vienna" style clock with only the crown. I made the left and right finial bases and the centre caps, added two decorative pins, purchased the finials that I thought best matched the case and stained them. This is the result.
