    Default Oldest in age

Has a list ever been published presenting the oldest [agewise] members of this NAWCC.

Let's start with the year 2000.

Published? I very much doubt that there would be much desire amongst NAWCC members to have a biography, including sensitive details such as age, available for membership viewing. I wonder if the staff in Columbia has an anonymous data base that would make such details available. Might be worth checking.

If you were to go to the NAWCC website, and in the mast head, look for CONTACT US, and open it. Scroll down to MEMBERSHIP and look for Pamela Lindenberger, and contact her. I know NAWCC doesn't know (or care) that I am 76, and same goes for most members. But Pam may be able to answer your question.

What I meant is that the membership department in Columbia doesn't know, or care, that I am 76. I'm proud to be 76, just like you are proud to be 101! But if you were to open a thread in member's news and views asking readers (NAWCC members in particular) to give their names and ages, I'm willing to bet you won't get 6 replies! (Now watch board readers, (NAWCC and otherwise), line up to make a fool of me)!

While it may not be in Members News and Views, the age thread already exists in Horological Misc and has 3 pages of responses: http://mb.nawcc.org/showthread.php?1...-an-Horologist

By the way, Dan, how are you feeling? We haven't heard from you for awhile.

And, just to help the challenge along... I'm 57.

63.67 Y.O., 64 on April 1. Gee, Dave, you are a young'n. By the way, thanks for the 1703a staff, going to try to do it this weekend. Just have to see if the boss will let me bring my lathe in from the garage, too cold this week to work out there.

    Dave C.,

We don't know how many respondents to the thread on the age of people in the craft are actually full NAWCC members. And that poll is skewed because it doesn't cover age groups specifically enough after about 80 yrs of age, the way I read Dan's question. There's a huge gap from 80 to 102, and I get the feeling that a breakdown of that group is what Dan is asking.

Well, yes. You do have to ignore the poll and read through the 100 or so responses to collect the data. But, I'll bet there are more than 6 NAWCC members who gave their age.

    Anonymously!

Nope. I counted 17 NAWCC members who gave their exact age in the responses. (Including you, Doug!) Many more that don't show the NAWCC banner, so I don't know if they are members, or not. I only counted those who show the banner.

Thus far, only five in this thread whose names we know and who are NAWCC members, have given their age. I used the number 6!

    I just turned 67

It appears that within 25 years or so, clock repair will have joined steam engine repair.

Dan's old enough to be my father and I turned 81 a couple months before he turned 101. Had my first child already at age 20 with the second on the way . . . .
